Aviemore is one of the best Ski and Snowboarding locations in the United Kingdom. Typically the Snow sport season stretches from December to April, but is always dependant on the unpredictable weather conditions. The Cainrgorm Ski Centre is around 10 minutes drive from the centre of Aviemore and offers a range of pistes to suit all abilities. The Fanicular railway at the base of the mountains allows visitors to reach the top within a few minutes. As well as skiing and snowboarding at the top of the mountains there is also a visitors shop, bar and restaurant along with stunning views of the Cairngorms.
